Thrive
Harnham Infant School have embraced the Thrive Approach. Thrive means that we are trauma-informed and are committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

Thrive is a special way of working with children to develop their social and emotional well-being which in turn will enable them to engage with life and learning. It has positive relationships at the heart and underpins all areas of school life, including our Relationships and Behaviour Policy. Through this, we hope to increase children’s sense of security, improve their self-esteem and support them to recognise and regulate their feelings.

We use the Thrive Online screening tool from a whole class perspective to that each class has a Thrive target each long term which they are working on together. In addition, we can offer Thrive as a 1:1 or Group Intervention following a more detailed individual assessment carried out by our Thrive Licensed Practitioner.
